May 6, 2019

Hello again, everyone! This has been one exciting week! Sorry for not emailing last week my companion and I were pretty sick so we didn't do much last Monday. Well, last week we found out I was being transferred. I was pretty sad because I love my Wilmington peeps and we were too sick to say goodbye to any of them. Sister Hulse and I were also really sad because we were only together for one transfer and it wasn't enough! Anywho, Sister Hulse stayed in Wilmington and I was transferred to Xenia, which is just north of Wilmington but it's so different! My new companion is Sister Blaser. She's from Switzerland and has converted me to Swiss chocolate...it's amazing! We actually came out from the MTC together so that's pretty fun. Sister Blaser's last area was right outside of Cincinnati so she's used to having a bunch of people around and big buildings, so Xenia is a change for her because it's in the suburbs. It's funny because coming from Wilmington Xenia seem super populated because there are houses everywhere and they actually have places to shop and eat. We went to Target today and I felt like I was breaking a rule or something because I hadn't been there for so long haha.

This week we've just been trying to figure out the area because Sister Blaser and I got doubled in, so we don't know anyone. Going to church yesterday was pretty crazy because none of the members knew us and we didn't know any of the members. The ward also seems huge coming from a ward that had just been converted from being a branch, so it's kind of overwhelming.

At the beginning of this week I was still pretty sick and couldn't keep any food down. The mission president's wife finally ended up calling and told me I should go to the ER and get myself checked out because I hadn't had much food or water for a week. (Don't worry mom, I'm alive, it's all good) They ended up just giving me an IV and nausea medication because they didn't know what was wrong with me. I'm doing better now but still can't eat a ton of food because my stomach shrunk or something.

Besides that, this week we've just been doing a ton of street contacting and tracting because we are only teaching one person and haven't been able to get in contact with her. Not gonna lie, it's been pretty exhausting because my body is still pretty weak, but the Lord is carrying me through it! A lot of people here aren't interested in hearing the message we have to share because it's a pretty wealthy area, so this whole week we struggled to find new people to teach. We even knocked on the door of this house that looks like Cinderella's castle, I mean it's HUUUGEE. It took us a couple minutes just to walk up the driveway. They weren't interested, but it was insane. Anyway, we had a goal to find 2 new people this week and hadn't found anyone new by yesterday afternoon, but we told ourselves we wouldn't stop and that the Lord would lead us to those who are prepared! We talked to every single person we saw walking around and were able to share a quick message with 2 people who said we could come back! We were so pumped! The Lord definitely answered our prayers and led us to people who's hearts have been softened.

Well, sorry that wasn't too exciting but hopefully we'll have some lessons this week to report on next Monday! I hope all of y'all are doing well, I miss you all a bunch! Stay safe, love ya!!
