Hello, friends!
This
week has been so insane! I was telling Sister Walters I can't remember
the last time I was this tired, but it's okay because it's all for the
Lord!
We
went on three exchanges with sisters in our zone this week, and we also
had zone conference, so we were seriously running around like crazy
people and Sister Walters and I were only actually together for a full
day on Wednesday. I conducted at zone conference and definitely said
some dumb things because I was 1. super tired and 2. super nervous, but
it all worked out so we good. Sister Walters and I gave a training on
putting our trust in the Lord and leaving our fears behind so we can
become the missionaries the Lord needs us to be. It was kind of an
abstract topic compared to most other zone conference trainings but we
felt like the missionaries here really needed it because we have a bunch
of super new missionaries that are having trouble getting out of their
comfort zone and just bearing sincere testimony to people they meet,
even if they don't accept our message. We got some really cool feedback
and we're already seeing a change in missionaries' attitudes in just a
few days, so that has been awesome.
We
are also teaching a bunch of awesome people! I don't have time to tell
you about all of them but I just know that Heavenly Father is preparing
people to receive this gospel. There is one lady we are teaching who is
one of the coolest people I've ever met. She has been taught by a ton of
missionaries in the past and she has never progressed a ton because she
feels like she has never gotten her questions answered very well. Her
husband is a member but he isn't very active, and a different member
asked us if we would go visit her. She is in a pretty rough place in
life right now and really needs the comfort of the gospel. She went to a
lot of different churches growing up, and she LOVES praising the Lord.
She had us over for dinner the other night (she makes the BEST stuffed
peppers) and when we walked in she was blasting K-LOVE and dancing
around in her wheelchair. She is one of the funniest people I have ever
met and she has such a kind heart, but she is also very opinionated,
which makes all of our visits super fun. She finally came to church for
the first time in 5 years yesterday, which we were so pumped about. It
will take some time to help her understand some principles, but she is
really trying to improve her life and is so committed to doing what she
needs to do to grow closer to the Savior. We are already seeing changes
in her life as she works to find answers for herself, which is so
amazing.
I
also got to go back to Beavercreek 1 this week on exchanges, so I was
able to help them get in contact with some of the people Sister
Archibald and I had been teaching there, so that was super fun. One of
the ladies we were able to see was someone I was teaching in the Xenia
ward, but she technically lives in the Beavercreek 1 ward boundaries, so
when we lost contact with her, her teaching record got moved to that
area. (She was a member referral from a member in the Xenia ward, and
they attended church together, which is why we were teaching her).
Sister Sisco and I miraculously were able to catch her at her house and
set up an appointment, I was so happy she is going to be taught again
because she is amazing, she just has a crazy busy schedule because she
owns her own sauce business and is always traveling around the country.
She even gave us some sauce for free, and it's pretty bomb.
Had another lesson on exchanges with Brother Tomlin
