Hello, everyone! Happy 4th of July!
Well
we have had another crazy week here in Beavercreek, Ohio! We have been
struggling with our teaching pool this transfer and this week we didn't
find anyone new to teach, but we aren't giving up because we know the
people who are ready to receive the gospel are out there. Our district
leader was trained in Beavercreek and he told us that while it may be
hard to find people to teach here, when you do find those who are
interested they are really committed to learning more and developing
their relationship with Christ.
As of now we are no longer a trio
A sister in the mission went home so Sister Blaser got transferred to
Springfield to finish training a new missionary. Now it's just Sister
Archibald and I. We're still having fun though and working hard to get
to know the ward better. This ward is huuuge compared to the Wilmington
and Xenia wards, but everyone we have met so far have been super nice
and welcoming.
A family in the ward invited us over for dinner this week and we had
some of the best homemade breadsticks I've ever had. The family has 4
autistic children, and the parents handle everything that doesn't go
quite according to plan in such a Christ-like way. It was seriously so
cute and heartwarming to see how sweetly they helped each of their
children learn in their own unique ways. But anyways, here is a funny
story about what happened at dinner. One of the boys was trying to learn
how to say our names. He got Sister Priest down pretty fast but he was
really struggling saying Sister Archibald. He ended up saying Sister A**
and then clapping because he felt like he finally said it right. The
parents and Sister Archibald and I all laughed super hard. I'm bummed I
can't quote that because it was one of the funniest things I've heard in
a while.
We
went on exchanges this week. Sister Archibald went to Fairborn with
Sister Visser and Sister Walters came to Beavercreek with me. This is my
third exchange with her, and we've had a lot of fun. We did a lot of
service together with some other sisters in the area helping people
affected by the tornado. It's pretty insane how long it's taking to
clean up all the tornado mess. A lot of people are more open to talking
with us about missionary work and the church when we are there to help
them, so it's been a great way to have really meaningful conversations
about the gospel with people even if they aren't interested in being
taught.
Besides
that nothing too insane happened, we're just staying busy talking to
everyone we see! I'm seriously so grateful for this opportunity to be
serving a mission, I wouldn't trade it for the world!
Well, that's it until next week, but email ke and let me know what is going on in your beautiful lives! Sure love ya
Sister Priest

A member in our ward has the sweetest, hugest Great
Perinese(idk of I spelled that right). If you can't tell I
was very excited to pet her. She sat on my feet
during the whole lesson with the members

Sad to leave each other going on exchanges
(btw Sister Archibald has been
giving me fashion tips
and dressing me in her clothes, I feel like a
movie star haha)
We found baby bunnies when we were cleaning up a yard.

We didn't realize these would be our last trio companionship pictures together
Springfield is where John Legend grew up, so
we stopped by the theater named after him
