March 25, 2019

Hello, again! Man this week has flown by! This will be a pretty short email because we took a nap this morning because both Sister Hulse and I are sick. Oh, ya, on Tuesday I met my new companion, Sister Hulse! She's from Prescott, Arizona, and we know some of the same people in Mesa because that's where her family is from, so that's fun! We've already had such a blast we have so many movie quotes we say all the time, it's pretty fun.

This week we were able to visit a few of the people we are teaching, which is a blessing because a lot of them are pretty hard to get into contact with. One of the people we are teaching showed us something he said he used when he was in the military and he said we needed to guess what it was. I'll attach a picture of what it looked like, but Sister Hulse and I had no idea what it was. I guessed folded up nun-chucks, and he laughed super hard at that. He told us it was a compacted flotation device, and when you pull the handle on top it pops out in like 2 seconds. Anyways after that we had a lesson with him and we were able to assess where he is at with his testimony and we answered some of his questions he had about stories in the Book of Mormon and talked again with him about how men hold the priesthood, but women still act under the power of the priesthood in their callings and are just as blessed by it as men are. He was having trouble understanding why, because we live in such a progressive time, why God wouldn't allow women to hold the priesthood, so we tried our best to answer all his questions.

On Thursday we played chair volleyball at the senior center again, and man do some of those seniors get intense! Sister Hulse sat by one of the more intense players, and we kept worrying that she'd have to catch him before he tipped himself and his chair over haha. We also got the opportunity to help a member of our ward clean her house up a bit. We both felt like we didn't do a whole ton, but we helped her organize a room in her house and did some yard work outside, and she really appreciated it. Sometimes it's the small things that really impact people.

Well, sorry that was such a short email, but we're getting ready to get back out into the work and find some new people to teach! We had an awesome week this week and I hope y'all did too!! Love you all!!

Sister Hulse and I ate at the #1 Chinese Buffet
today (congratulations you did it!) Haha I love Elf.

I tried a mussle for the first time. It
doesn't really taste like anything, but I
definitely won't be eating one again.

Sister Hulse took a picture when I tried the mussle.

This is Simba again. He and Sister Hulse
have matching hair.

This was the flotation device thing one of
the people we're teaching showed us.
